Early 19th Century Teacup and Saucer
A beautiful porcelain white and gold fluted teacup and saucer that date to around 1800. It isn't often that you find both the cup and the saucer, I've had a few cups from this period but rarely manage both, which isn't surprising I suppose when you consider they're over 220 years old. They're unmarked but the same pattern as a Worcester porcelain cup that I've previously shown.
There is a tiny nibble in the saucer, an old war wound that someone has fixed with a dab of gold paint, I've shown it in close up in the second photograph. Otherwise the pair are in excellent condition - the gilding is bright and clear, although slightly worn around the cup's rim.
The cup measures 8.5cm in diameter and stands 5.5cm high and the saucer is 13.5cm in diameter.
