Red Squirrel and Oak Leaves

Hand embroidered on vintage linen this little red squirrel is very at home amongst the oak leaves.  The linen has been dyed with mint leaves to give a delicate blush background.

It is framed in an early 19th century miniature frame with an acorn and oak leaf hanging hook. The frame measures 4.5 inches (11.5cm) x 5 inches (12.6cm) with the oval aperture being just under 2.5 inches (6cm) across at its widest point and 2.75 inches (7.2cm) from top to bottom.
