Winter Lavender Pillow

A mix of ancient linens, hand embroidery and dried lavender make up this winter pillow.  I loved the colour and texture of the central piece of linen as it throws into sharp contrast the whiteness of the frost on the grasses and seed heads.  

The pillow measures 24cm x 16cm. Once the scent has faded it can be unpicked along the centre of the bottom seam and refilled, and it can also be washed whilst empty of lavender. Wash by hand in warm water using a detergent for delicate fabrics.  To keep the embroidery as fresh as possible, when ironing place a towel underneath the pillow and one over the top.

The early 19th Century white and gold teacup and saucer can be found in my Vintage Treasures collection. The material used for the picture's background is Peony and Sage's Giselle Petit.
